Through Alwan Radio 94.5 F.M, SVF broadcasted a live radio program to discuss accountability and monitoring the work of the municipalities on Wednesday, 23/12/2009, attended by the Al.Maghazi Mayor Mr. Mohammad Al.Najar, he started his speech on the importance of the participation and cooperation of citizens with the municipalities in the implementation of developmental and community projects, noting that this cooperation contributes the implemented municipal projects success and development. In this regard, he explained that stimulating of community participation in implementation of projects has worked to overcome many obstacles facing the municipality and stressed the need to derive benefit from all available resources and exploit them to serve the citizens.
On the other side, he pointed out that there are direct and indirect causes of corruption as well as a lack of awareness and ignorance and stressed that the citizen is the essential partner for the municipality and must be aware of his rights and duties. According to the current situation, Mr. Al.najar referred that the municipality under the blockade set up a work committee to put a strategic plan for all areas and services provided through the proposals meet the citizens' needs. On his part, he indicated that the main problem is funding noting that funding is external and not internal finance and may be the proposed goals don't appropriate with the priorities of the municipality.
Mr. Al.Najar recommended the need for educators to work hard to establish generation aware of the concepts of public affairs and of belonging to homeland. He confirmed also that the municipality is not in isolation from the educational cultural, and health activities, and stressed the need to take advantage of all categories of society, whether man or woman or child and investing all its energies and harnessing them to serve the nation and the citizen.
