Within a series of awareness meetings, SVF held a public awareness meeting in cooperation with Environment's Supporters Association - Khan Younis on "methods of the sound upbringing of the children" on Sunday 27/12/2009 attended by many graduates and women and hosted by the community activist Mr. Jaber Abu Zaher. He assisted that the family represents the first culture, and most powerful groups influence the behavior of the individual, and it the first social school for the child which affect the behavior of the child. Furthermore, it handles his behavior and the formation of his personality. In this regard, Mr. Abu Zaher referred that the family relations affect greatly in the process of sound upbringing lead to family cohesion, creating conducive atmosphere to the growth of children in an integrated manner, and vice versa where the child who lives in a fraught atmosphere with violence facing problems in his interaction with others and take the form of aggression and study problems and it leads to a sense of fear, anxiety and depression, as well as lead to self-destructive behavior, anger and aggression besides a sense of guilt, shame, and mistrust of others.
Accordingly, Mr. Abu Zaher stressed during the meeting that all this leads to the concept of violence, which means "every act that might cause harm to others, and may be physically or psychologically harm. He added that imposition of ideas by force, heard all the swear words are different forms of the same phenomenon. In this context he stressed that the family should to develop the social responsibility since the early years of their lives through social skills and play the functional roles and developed in their personality and the acquisition of good values and the rejection of bad values and behaviors, and experience the good work to achieve a manner that builds community and enable it to achieve the lofty goals.
In the end of the meeting, Mr. Abu Zaher emphasized on the necessity to be careful of the social environment as the family is a social institution which not only entrusted to develop a social personality of children, but there are other institutions contribute to this process, school, friends and, forums, places of worship and the media that raise social and cultural awareness to build generation based on good values.
