Under a series of seminars and meetings organized by the SVF, an awareness meeting held on "How can we protect ourselves from ourselves", attended by 33 of women and mothers, in cooperation with " The Palestinian Right and Justice Association" on Sunday 3 Jan 2010, participated by community activist, Mr. Jaber Abu Zahir, who began his speech by asking the audience what the mean of protecting ourselves from ourselves, he commented that the country, city, neighborhood and the whole family means self and the ego. and, if the individual went to rebuke his family, whether they brothers or sisters or mother, that will leave its impact in the future as the violence will grow steadily to spread to the whole of the country. In other words, he commented that violence only begets violence, whether physical or mental, psychological or sexual. On the other hand, Mr. Abu Zaher pointed out that if there is principle in the house to promote dialogue and understanding, that will prevail love, peace and non-violence culture. in the community. Furthermore, he confirmed that violence is inherited through the generations. Mr. Abu Zaher also stressed that the phenomenon of violence in general is one of the most interesting phenomena that require the attention of government on the one hand and the nuclear family on the other hand. Moreover, he indicated the need to address it, first, by the size of the real numbers and then explain the reasons to uproot it. About the reasons that would create such  behavior, Mr. Abu Zahir referred that there are several reasons, including financial hardship and the siege imposed since more than three years and the lack of community and cultural awareness. In the end of the meeting,  Abu Zaher  recommended to make the language of dialogue and understanding the base mean to communicate in the family to reduce  this phenomenon, which will impact on future generations.
