SVF organized a public awareness meeting to discuss the role of women in the community in collaboration with the Women's Programs Center - Maghazi on Thursday 7/1/2010. The meeting was attended by a number of women and those interested in women's issues and participated by the lawyer Ms. Hala Abadan, asserted that the greatness of Palestinian women call us to respect her at various stations of her life. Furthermore, she indicated that women are an important part of development who can not be isolated. She added also that the women's participation derive its importance and significance in terms of being an essential mechanism for self-development that constitute a strong tool to achieve social and economic and political growth. Ms. Abadan commented that despite the active role of Palestinian women throughout history, they found she had been placed on the corner of marginalization to take the role of the viewer away from participating in political decision-making despite the excellence of Palestinian women educationally and culturally. In any case, Ms. Abadan confirmed that the process of whole community development, requires the exploitation of human resources and harnessing the energies of all the material and human. In this regard, she pointed out that women constitute half of society's human resources depends in implementation of programs of economic and social development, in addition to the role of women in forming the personality of children in society,
Moreover, she referred that the development process is an integrated process designed to improve the human element, without distinction between classes, and therefore should be accommodated in the plans of all categories of society which would erase the negative image of women underdeveloped culturally, socially, economically and politically, and replace smart educated women to participate in the positive development of different movements and added that, more community awareness that would set the social role of the individual and thereby facilitate the achievement of the objectives of development policies.
