SVF held a public awareness-raising meeting on "promoting a culture of dialogue between children" in cooperation with the Women's Programs Center - Rafah on Tuesday January 12, 2010 participated by a number of graduates and women and the guest of the meeting was the  community activist, Mr. Jaber Abu Zaher. He referred that the relationship between parents and their children is one of the important  social and cultural issues that are critical to our Palestinian society. On the other hand, Mr. Abu Zaher pointed out that violence phenomenon increased largely in various kinds and forms weather family or community level and that serve family instability and spread violence among family members. Mr. Abu Zaher during the meeting, stressed the importance of the family's role in opening channels of dialogue and communication between children, each other and also between them and the parents, the adoption of peaceful solutions continuously, and embody the principle of peaceful transfer of dialogue to promote a culture and a spirit of dialogue among family members, and look forward to a bright future and reject the culture of hatred and discord. In this regard, Mr. Abu Zaher indicated the growing conviction established that our society desperately need to raise number of values, virtues and ethics of tolerance and reconciliation, together with mutual respect to promote a culture of dialogue to achieve family stability and the elimination of all scenes and pictures of community violence . He concluded by saying that this issue is not the prerogative of the state and its authorities and educational institutions alone, but it is the responsibility of everyone in this country, all bodies of the political parties and civil society organizations and the private media and public, should play a positive role in performing their functions in the formation of family, community and establish the principles of reconciliation, tolerance and dialogue of family and instilling the concepts of proper and constructive family.
