SVF organized a public awareness meeting on " Unemployment and its impact on family and society" in cooperation with " Al Mabarra Charitable Association - Bani Suhaila, Khan Yunis", participated by 23 participants of graduates, students, women and social activists on  February 21, 2010. The guest of the meeting was Mr. Jaber Abu Zaher, community activist, who assisted that  unemployment is a form of arbitrary waste of human resources and pointed to the the growing unemployment phenomenon in the Palestinian society recently and its disastrous consequences, socially and economically. Mr. Abul-Zaher During the meeting, referred that loss of work or inability to get the appropriate job drives the person to rely on others to meet daily living needs, which causes feelings of frustration and a sense of failure, as well as cases of depression that affects the individual and cripple what remains of activity and effectiveness. Furthermore, he stressed that these symptoms, from the standpoint of psychology and sociology, are critical introductions to  the world of delinquency, crime and fall into anti-social behavior and the shift of unemployed qualified personal positive and productive to the character of a turbulent and negative factor for the demolition of society. On the impacts caused by unemployment on the family, Mr. Abu Zaher indicated that it is reflected directly on family life in general, and turn to the factors for demolition and destruction to family humanitarian ties necessary for the family cohesion and thus prevent its humanitarian role of the family as an institution of socialization to the source of serious delinquencies and disorders and besides threat to the social structure.
