SVF held a public meeting on "Youth and the Parliamentary Ambition" in cooperation with " Tala'e Palestine Association - Khan Younis" on Monday, February 22, 2010, participated by a number of graduates and students. The meeting hosted by the SVF's Youth Parliament Head, Mr. Nedal Al Mozayen. In the beginning, he described youth as permanent element of development and that they are the real wealth of the Palestinian community, who are the hope and ambition of all progress and development, whether political, social, economic, cultural. Hence, he confirmed on the need to preserve the dignity of youth to enhance their role in society and their participation in political and public life. In this sense, Mr. Al Mozayen indicated that Society Voice Foundation intended and contributed to establish such Youth Parliament to deepen the democratic practice on several sides; to foster comprehensive knowledge of human rights and the principles of equality and equal opportunities and instilling the values of belonging to the homeland. During the meeting, Mr. Al Mozayen stressed the importance of such initiatives as the comprehensive development of education requires the participation of youth in the progress of society which an effective means for democratic empowering and development to freedom of thought and expression. In this regard, he confirmed the need to work to achieve the aspirations of youth to secure a better future for the future of the nation's productivity and prosperity and freedom within civil society based on democracy and good governance. In conclusion, Mr. Al Mozayen expressed his experience in youth parliament which harden youth and give them the practical experience to serve their community directly and effectively based on real life situations and issues faced the Palestinian civil society. |
