SVF invited Mrs. Sabah Taleb, manager of Women's Programs Center at Shate', and Mrs. Salwa Abu Mo'eleq, coordinator of the Women Committees Union for Social Work at Deir Al.Balah, and Mrs. Samira Abu Shalouf, coordinator of the Women Committees Union for Social Work at Al.Moghraqa to talk in a produced live radio program on "Palestinian Woman .. Infinite Achievement in Challenging Difficulties" on May 19, 2010. Mrs. Abu Shalouf indicated that Palestinian women formed a unique model through a long history of giving who deserves praise and respect and that was affected by special circumstances which empowered their awareness and increased their mentality to contribute at opening the closed doors and facing the difficulties.
In this regard, Mrs. Abu Shalouf pointed out that poverty and illiteracy is the most obstacle stands in the face of women's progress in the advancement process, capabilities development and enhance of their self-confidence. On her part, Mrs. Taleb confirmed that women was still partners with men in all aspects and at all levels; women succeeded to face every wrong tradition stand as an obstacle to achieve her ambitions. Furthermore, she added that the Palestinian women faced violence with all courage throughout struggling for self- progress and personality's achievement through unlimited and unconditional giving and contribution.
On her turn, Mrs. Mo'eleq referred that Palestinian women succeeded to overcome obstacles and difficulties, in spite of the oppressive customs and traditions, violence against women along with the complexities of the surrounding circumstances and life's difficulties; women contributed largely at improving their status and their families situations as well as completing their educational level to obtain the highest qualifications, which reflected positively on them and on society's perception of inferiority to them.
In conclusion, the guests emphasized on the need of women's claiming of their rights and not giving in to any impediment. They called all institutions of civil society to work together, hand in hand, to educate and raise the community about the importance of women's status and their great role at community advancement.
