SVF organized a public meeting on " Voluntary Work and its importance in the lives of youth" participated by a number of youth and graduates. The meeting took place in the hall of the SVF's office in Nusierat on Wednesday 19, 2010, the executive manager of Carmel Cultural Association, Mr. Ayman Al.Hour was the speaker of the meeting. Mr. Al.Hour defined volunteering as " the practice of people working on behalf of others without being motivated by financial or material gain to contribute at assuming the responsibility. Moreover, he indicated that volunteering and the size of engaging in it is a symbol of nations' progress and prosperity; more progress and development means more involvement of citizens in charitable volunteer work.
In this context, Mr. Al.Hour assisted the need to unify all the efforts of community, official and popular, to face the change of living conditions through national volunteer work. On the other hand, Mr. Al.Hour reviewed a number of obstacles facing youth in the voluntary process volunteering; economic conditions, limited financial resources as well as lack of focusing on the concept and benefits of participating in voluntary social work, publicity programs and voluntary activities and lack of promoting for volunteerism.
At the end of the meeting, Mr. Ayman called youth to search and make every effort, not despair and look to the future with hope and optimism.
