SVF invited Mr. Liala Almodala, chairman of the board of South Women Media Center, and Mr. Mo'en Shaqfa, director of Alard Center For Media and Communication to talk in a live radio program on " The media role in the development process " on June 16, 2010. Mr. Shaqfa attributed the lack of development to the absence of strategic plans and confusion between development and development. On the other hand, he referred that most of the media in Palestine belonged to a government and classified as a partisanship which affect the decisions and policies.
On his part, Mr. Shaqfa pointed out the media centers weakly role in developmental process. In spite that, he stressed some efforts carried out through a number of community institutions at developmental process including Alard Center For Media and Communication which implemented several activities related to community development.
On her part, Mrs. Almodala criticized the educational system in the Palestinian universities which is lacking of multi courses that doesn't prepare the graduates to the practical stage. On the other side, she also criticized the Palestinian media which lacking to realism, clarity and mutual trust with audience, planning and reasonable strategies.
In conclusion, Mrs. Almodala assisted the importance of disseminating development during the media besides determining a clear vision and strategy for media development to promote the concept of professionalism, credibility and respect for press freedom and independence in identifying problems, issues and challenges of development.
Mr. Shaqfa stressed the need for a media planning information characterized by a comprehensive and integration to ensure good performance through using all communication channels and their components and make them in the service of development issues.
