SVF held a youth meeting on Thursday, June 17, 2010 in collaboration with Women Programs Center at Khan Younis governorate, attended by 20 participants of students and graduates. The meeting focused on the main obstacles and difficulties face the youth in the Palestinian community.
During the meeting, the attendance referred the challenges face the youth sector in the Palestinian community including spreading of unemployment phenomenon. In spite that, they always seek for a source of income to take their role in the society. On the other hand, they stressed the need to communicate with graduates to help them to find jobs after graduation and work to develop their skills in addition to the need to carry out a thorough survey and build a comprehensive data base for graduates in order to develop a plan to find a practical mechanism to deal with them and of graduates.
Furthermore, they confirmed the importance of organizing conferences, seminars and training courses for graduates. In conclusion, the audience emphasized the most important obstacle face them which is the unjust blockade upon the Gaza Strip and the internal division which is now threatening their future.
