A local study on the local councils elections referred that more than 80% of the total will elect women in the case of elections of local councils.
Society Voice Foundation conducted field survey in cooperation with Maghazi municipality entitled " The role of women in decision-making in the municipality of Maghazi ".
77.7% of the study sample referred that women's participation in the administrative board of Maghazi Municipality means strengthening their role in serving the community, while 62.3% of the majority of the sample indicated that women's participation in the administrative board of Maghazi Municipality has a significant impact on decision-making process within the municipality.
42.3% Show thier satisfaction with the relocation from the center of the camp to the main entrance of the camp, 68.5% confirmed that the relocation of the municipality may impact significantly on the relationship between citizens and municipal administration, while 31.5% said that there is no any effect on the relationship between them .
More than 97% of the total pointed out that the municipality did not consult the citizens before the relocation of the municipality location from the camp to the main entrance of the camp, compared to 2,7% said that the municipality consulted the citizens. 32% want to change the new location of the municipality and return it to the old location in the camp, 24.3% wish to change the structure of the municipality in general.
49.6% of the total expressed that infrastructure projects implemented by the municipality has met the need of the community to some extent, while 40% of the study sample referred that they knew about the projects implemented by the municipality through relatives, 28,8% of them knew about these projects through public announcements set by the implementing agencies for projects near the implementation location, 2,2% of the sample knew information on the budget of the implemented projects by the municipality, 31% knew the names of funders for these projects.
53.5% explained that they know the number of council members, 81.5% of the total sample of the study confirmed that the social perception of women is the most important reasons for the low participation of women in decision-making process within the municipality, and 56.5% of the total sample expressed satisfaction regarding the level of women working in the municipality. 36.9% referred that the municipality didn't circulate any information on the municipality structure in the hands of citizens.
