SVF invited the social activist Mr. Talal Abu Zarefa to talk in a produced live radio program on " Youth and political life between ambition and frustration" on June 30, 2010. Mr. Abu Zarefa referred that youth are an effective and productive force and in any society. In his turn, he assisted on the importance role of youth in the community development and called to the need to seek for an effective ways to promote this category.
On the political role of youth, Mr. Abu Zarefa indicated that youth participation in the political parties decreased and assisted on the importance of promoting youth political participation through empowering their effective role in the political parties.
On the other side, he addressed the economic concept and stressed the absence of any strategic plan to support the category of youth and called for adopting useful and effective projects for young people to enhance their role and status in the community. In this sense, he tackled the current circumstances; political, economic and social, which drive youth to dream and wish for migrating out of the country. Hence, Mr. Abu Zarefa called for the necessity of national unity to achieve participation principle based on promoting a culture of tolerance and democracy.
In his turn, Mr. Abu Zarefa called to the need to form a local united body of youth caring their interests and issues based on avoiding factional or partisan.
In conclusion, Mr. Abu Zarefa called youth to be more patient and diligent to face obstacles and challenges to achieve and fulfill their goals.
