SVF invited Mrs. Enas Al.Khateb, coordinator of support and empower woman and child Program in Alwedad Association for Social Rehabilitation, and Mrs. Khaldia Alouh from Woman and Community Empowerment Center to talk in a live radio program to discuss psychological and social effects of children's abuse. The program tackled the subject from different point of views. In her turn, Mrs. Al.Khateb referred that child abuse is the physical and psychological mistreatment of children that results in harm, potential for harm, or threat of harm to a child. She classified four major categories of child abuse: neglect, physical abuse, psychological abuse, and sexual abuse and assisted that neglect is the most dominance one of children abuse in which the responsible adult fails to adequately provide for various needs, including physical (failure to provide adequate food, clothing, or hygiene), emotional (failure to provide nurturing or affection) or educational (failure to enroll a child in school).
